Julie Rhames is an artist from Mobile, AL. My education and experience is in a variety of creative mediums. Being a painter is my true passion and love. I feel the journey through the creative process is as important as the destination. I find imperfection truly beautiful which motivates me to create abstract paintings.

I am extremely inspired by my past work as a jewelry designer. I would gold leaf anything not nailed down if I could. I apply multiple layers of paint, metallic leaf and paint washes as well as charcoal and other mixed media to achieve texture and depth.

I feel I have grown as an artist and found a unique voice all my own. I am excited to see how I grow as an artist and where my creativity will take me.

Studied Studio Art at Art History at Faulkner State and the University of South Alabama.
Trained in Metalsmithing and jewelry design as well as jewelry arts at Bishop State
Aveda Hair stylist and Color Specialist with 10 years experience
